Mr. Vijay Kapoor, Principal Consultant

B.E. & MBA, with over 35 years of experience in industry, encompassing areas like Industrial Engineering, Project Management, Quality Management, Technology Transfer, Manufacturing Engineering, Performance based Incentive system, Inventory Management, etc both in Process & Engineering Industry. Operational Efficiency improvement through World Class Manufacturing Practices, Plant Layout, Material Handling, Standardization of work practices, etc are his strong points.

As Head of Consultancy division of the School, he has handled more than 15 assignments over last one & a half year. He has held training sessions in various organizations on Quality Improvement Tools, Material Handling & Layouts, Materials Management, Productivity Improvement Planning, World Class Manufacturing & others.

Prior to joining PTU’s Gian Jyoti School of TQM and Entrepreneurship, he was COO (Chief Operating Officer) at Time Technoplast Ltd., a Rs. 600 crore group. Have earlier worked with groups like Shriram (DCM), JK, LML, Swaraj (Swaraj Mazda), etc. He is currently engaged in leading various training and consulting assignments of the School, focusing on Structured Quality Improvement, Cost Reduction, Productivity Improvement and Operational Efficiency Improvement.

 
 

Mr. Naresh K Chawla, General Manager - Consulting Services

Mr. Naresh Chawla is post graduate engineer with over 21 years of Consulting and Training experience in Operational Management spanning over diverse industrial segments like, Textile, Automotive, Railways, Bicycle, Light Engineering, FMCG, etc. Standardization of work practices and Structured Problem Solving using management and statistical tools is his forte.

He is a Certified Productivity Practitioner from Asian Productivity Organization (APO), Japan and has been extensively trained in key productivity improvement concepts such as Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Benchmarking, Balanced Score Card, TQM, and Six Sigma & Knowledge Management.  He has also received advance training in Production Management & Information Systems and Kaizen Management (PROMIS) from AOTS, Japan.

He is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified Master Black Belt (from ISI). He is a lead trainer for six sigma black belt and green belt courses of the Institute.  He has trained more than 200 learners, both from service and manufacturing sectors, in GB/BB  and mentored more than 80 projects. He is also a trained Business Counselor from EDI, Ahmedabad He is registered with NPC India as Lean Manufacturing Consultant and is implementing Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme (LMCS) for MSME in two clusters at Mohali; one engaged in bathroom fittings and accessories and another one engaged in tractor, railway & auto components.

He has earlier served with National Productivity Council (NPC), India as Dy. Director. He worked with NPC for almost 15 years and most of his experience is related to Productivity Improvement, Cost reduction, Inventory Management, Organization Restructuring, Establishing Performance Standards, Low Cost Automation, TQM, QC circles, 5S & lean manufacturing practices.
 
 

Mr. Anil Nanda, Sr. Consultant

A Production Engineer from Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh, with a rich experience of 32 years in industry. He worked as Head of Industrial Engineering with M/s Punjab Tractor Mohali for over 9 yrs., and was Head of Design, Development Production Planning and Manufacturing of Light Alloy Casting at M/s Goetze India Ltd. (Now Federal-Mogul India Limited) for over 21 yrs. He retired as General Manager from Goetze India, Patiala.

He has been trained in Germany on Quality Systems and Shop floor practices. Being at the senior management positions, his main role was to provide direction and leadership for achieving growth and profitability by adopting best industrial practices.

He has been conducting training programs and consulting engagements in the areas of Quality Improvement, Productivity Improvement, Lean Management and Cost Reduction.

5S Champion and Facilitator at Goetze India, Patiala. Directly responsible for training many teams and implementing 5S programs company wide.

 
 

Mr. Devendra Singh, Sr. Consultant

A Mining Engineer with over 35 years experience in Training, Marketing and TQM. Served in various companies such as Escorts Tractors Limited, Eicher Tractors India Limited and Punjab Tractors Limited. Retired as DGM-Training from Punjab Tractors in 2002. Undergone extensive training in TQM from Qimpro Consultants, Mumbai. A silver standard winner from Qimpro. With PTU’s Gian Jyoti School of TQM since June 2005. Was extensively involved in coordinating Quality Improvement activities at the corporate level in Punjab Tractors.

He has been conducting training programmes on Juran Quality Improvement, Cost of Poor Quality, Quality Improvement Tools and Problem Solving. Expert in Total Quality Management and facilitation of Quality Improvement Projects.

 

Brig. Surinder Singh ( Retd.), Sr. Consultant

A graduate and PG in Electronics Engineering from IIT Delhi. Has over 35 years experience in general management. Has conducted number of workshops in various areas. Specializes in area of project management and training & development in TQM, communication skills, leadership & motivation.

 
 

Mr. Vinod Bhardwaj, Senior Consultant

Has more than 38 years of varied experience in manufacturing and quality related function in Sylvania, HMT, GE, Phillips and Bajaj Electricals. He was heading & driving Business Excellence activities at Philips. He has been a guest faculty at NITTR , ETDE & NPC. He has also been consultant for courses conducted under “Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH Germany at ETDC. An active practitioner at various units of Philips in their shop floor Management Programme which is designed on good practices of manufacturing derived out of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.

5S champion at Philips India, Mohali Plant. Conducted company wide training program and shouldered direct responsibility for implementation of 5S.

 
 

Mr. Viney Davessar, Sr. Consultant

He is a Graduate Engineer from Thapar Institute of Engineering, Patiala, with over 23 years of industrial experience. He has worked with Fedders Lloyd, JCT Electronics and Kamla Dials at senior management level. His areas of specialization are quality assurance and establishing quality systems. He has also undertaken projects in quality and environmental improvements.
