Nostalgia and joy filled the air when about 100 plus alumni gathered at PGSTE campus on 25th December 2013 to celebrate the second Alumni Meet and Reunion. They returned to their alma mater after several years. Many came from far off places, like Pune.

There was a lot of bonhomie as old friends met after a gap of many years and recalled the time they had spent together at the institute.

In the General Body Meeting, new Executive Members were also unanimously elected to the Governing Body of the Alumni Association. The newly appointed executive members introduced themselves and shared their vision of the vibrant Alumni. They recalled some of the memorable moments, support from faculty and fantastic learning while a student.

The most interesting part of the day was the sharing of ‘Journey so far – after graduating’ by some alumnae. Vipan Sarin, from first batch of B. Tech and a successful entrepreneur now, shared application of his learnings at work. He recalled how it became difficult for him to write the mission and vision statement for him. But once he cleared this hurdle it became comparatively easy for him to develop his business model. Sonu Kakkar from 5th batch B.Tech said “This is clearly a destination for world-class education and is a matter of personal pride for me and all the alumni who have come here today from all over India”.

“I came to this institute, did my B.Tech and when I left four years later, not just with a degree, but also with lots of experiences and an outlook towards life and ambition that I never possessed before coming here,” expressed another Alumni. In words of Harbir Dhindsa” (alumnus of MBA Executive), “I learned here how to delegate authority and responsibility leading to better time management. I am now able to reduce time spent in a day at work and yet increase my revenues. My family is delighted with this positive change.”

On this occasion, Padmashree, Chandra Mohan, Chairman Governing Council emphasized the importance of setting the goals high by the Alumni. He further stressed the need of regular meetings of Alumni as well as networking to create a synergy for continuous improvement. The event concluded with sumptuous lunch and dance party.
